What is “Personal Welfare”?

Decisions concerning your personal welfare include your medical and healthcare matters and other day-to-day activities.

Some examples of personal welfare decisions include:

  • where you should live;
  • who you should live with;
  • giving or refusing consent to the carrying out or continuation of a treatment (including the conduct of a clinical trial) by a person providing health care for Donor e.g. refusing chemotherapy if the Donor has cancer;
  • what activities to take part in
  • what you wear and eat.
